netcareBDLive reports that private hospital group Netcare has denied union Hospersa’s claims that it failed to inform staff of its plans to outsource 37 pharmacies in its Medicross clinics, as well as the retail outlets in 51 hospitals, to retailer Clicks.

Hospersa (Health & Other Services Personnel Trade Union of SA) general secretary Noel Desfontaines claimed Netcare had announced the development in a newsletter, and was "sailing close to the wind" with regard to the law and fair processes.  On Thursday, Netcare CEO Richard Friedland said the company’s line managers had communicated with all potentially affected employees before the transaction was publicised.  He assured staff that they would not be prejudiced by the development, and that there would be no job losses.
