ehrenreichNetwerk24 reports that Tony Ehrenreich, labour federation Cosatu’s Western Cape secretary, is apparently not in the running for the ANC for the top post in Cape Town.

Ehrenreich said on Monday that Cosatu in the Western Cape was not happy that he holds two post, namely provincial secretary as well as city councillor.  He also indicated that he was never on any ANC list of candidates for the upcoming municipal elections.  Ehrenreich went on to explain:  “Cosatu discussed the question and came to the conclusion that if I was again requested to make myself available as mayoral candidate, I would have to choose between the two posts.  Cosatu said explicitly that I must focus on the federation.”
