angiemotshekgaThe Citizen reports that the SA Democratic Teachers Union’s (Sadtu’s) threat to drag Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga to court over the controversial “jobs-for-cash” report has left her cold.

This is according to Motshekga’s spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga, who commented:  “It’s their constitutional right, they can go ahead.”  The report was due to be released last week, but the minister will now only release it next week.  An investigation by a ministerial task team, headed by Professor John Volmink, investigated allegations that school positions were being sold by Sadtu members and produced the report.  The union is demanding to be allowed to make submissions to the ministerial task team.
