ambulanceHeraldLive reports that following a second attack in four days on EMS ambulance crew members on Thursday, ambulances will no longer be going into Kwazakhele in Nelson Mandela Bay without a police escort.

Eastern Cape Department of Health spokesman Siyanda Manana said that if a police escort was not available, patients would have to be brought to the nearest police station.  EMS ambulance crew members were held at knife and gunpoint by six armed men at Kwazakhele Site & Service early on Thursday morning.  The crew was robbed of phones and wallets.  Another crew was attacked in the same area on Sunday morning.
