Algoa FM reports that a security guard was killed during an armed robbery in Knysna at the weekend. Police spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili reported that the incident happened in the town's center on Saturday morning.
She said a preliminary investigation indicated that two security guards were collecting cash from a supermarket at the Woodmill Lane Shopping Centre. The driver was waiting inside their vehicle when he heard a noise. He got out of the vehicle, when he saw two men fleeing with the cash and found his fatally wounded partner. No arrests have yet been made.
