Reuters reports that pharmaceutical workers launched an indefinite wage strike on Friday, potentially affecting production and distribution depots, a union official said.

The union’s Clement Chitja said workers wanted a 9% wage increase in a one-year deal, while employers were offering 7.5% this year and 7% in the second year of a two-year deal. Pharmaceutical company Adcock Ingram said the strike had not as yet affected any of its operations.
