Maroela Media reports that in a recent letter to trade union Solidarity, the Netcare Hospital Group announced that was planning to commence with a large-scale centralisation process in its credit control division.
The centralisation would be implemented in several phases and was intended to be finalised by June 2017. During the first phase, the credit control divisions of six Netcare hospitals, namely Netcare Garden City, Pretoria East, Olivedale, Pinehaven, Rosebank and Waterfall City would be relocated to a specified area in Gauteng. Since the process was still in the early stages it is not yet clear how many employees would be affected. In addition, the company wants to temporarily freeze the appointment of non-nursing staff below the C3 band. Solidarity’s Johan Botha indicated that the union and the three other trade unions concerned, namely Hospersa, Denosa and Nehawu, have decided unanimously to oppose the centralisation process, which follows on the heels of the recent centralisation of Netcare’s three support offices in Auckland Park, Centurion and Sandton to one office.
