Mining Weekly reported on Friday that the body of Tanki Samuel Lepitikoe, one of the two Impala Platinum (Implats) employees who went missing in a fall-of-ground incident on 17 May 2016, has been found and brought to surface.
Implats said on Friday that rescue efforts were continuing for Ohemile Moses Maamogwa, who is still missing. Rockdrill operator Lepitikoe, originally from Lesotho, had had four years’ service with Implats. Maamogwa, also a rockdrill operator originally from Vryburg, has been working for Implats for 31 years.
