Reuters reports that airline operator Comair has made a new wage offer to trade union the United Association of SA (Uasa) after a three-day strike by ground staff.
“We are still in talks. The company has presented a revised offer; by Monday we will have decided,” Uasa spokesman Jannem Goussard said on Friday, without giving details of the new offer. The share price in respect of Comair, a franchisee of British Airways and the owner of low-cost airline Kulula.com, has fallen by more than 5% since Tuesday, after UASA said its members were preparing to strike. The union wants a 35% pay increase over three years, while Comair is offering a 22.5% increase over three years, the airline said on Tuesday.
