Survivors of deadly Gold Fields’ mine fire discharged from hospital

Survivors of this past weekend's fatal mine fire at Gold Fields’ KDC West mine near Carletonville were discharged from hospital earlier today. The fire killed five miners and eleven others were treated at a private hospital for smoke inhalation. The company says that the fire has been contained, but the Ya-Rona shaft will stay closed because it is not yet safe to resume operations.
