Fired workers haul Kaya FM to labour court for unfair dismissal

Gauteng radio station Kaya FM has been dragged to court by seven former employees who claim they were unfairly dismissed last year. The seven argued yesterday in the Labour Court that they were invited to a meeting to discuss the station’s new business model, only to realise that the meeting was meant to assess their skills. The ex-employees alleged that management had retrenchment in mind even before the meeting.
