A week after the supposed end to a four-week strike, the Communication Workers’ Union led a march to the Union Buildings yesterday to hand over a memorandum to three departments calling for an end to labour brokering at the SA Post Office (Sapo). The “interim solution” of last week, which would see the phasing out of labour brokers over three months, was said not to be acceptable, with workers demanding an immediate termination of labour broker contracts and the re-instatement of retrenched workers.
