Satawu riot liability ruling a ’disaster,’ says Cosatu

The Constitutional Court ruling today dismissing an appeal by the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union against a law that held the organisers of marches liable for riot damage spelt “disaster” for SA, said Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini. In his view the decision would have a “harrowing effect” on workers’ right to protest.
