Cape Town and Cosatu on collision course over freedom for Obama

capetown_thumb_medium120_88Cosatu is gunning for Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille to withdraw her intention to bestow the freedom of the city on US President Barack Obama and his wife, but she is adamant it will go ahead. Cosatu provincial secretary Tony Ehrenreich said there had been no consultation. Meanwhile, general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi tweeted: “Established the facts on protest against Obama by COSATU western Cape. They highlighting role US play in continued occupation of Palestine”.
