Text of Samwu statement on decision to call off strike

A Special National Executive Committee of the SA Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) which met on 27 August 2011 decided to call off the municipal workers’ national wage strike which had commenced on 15 August 2011. The reasons for its decision have been put forward in a press statement by the general secretary, Mthandeki Nhlapo.
