Public sector wage negotiations to continue tomorrow

Wage negotiations between the government and public sector unions representing civil servants will continue tomorrow, the public service ministry said today. Minister Lindiwe Sisulu welcomed the decision by unions to continue with the negotiations after they declared a wage dispute two weeks ago. The government has offered a 9% raise, made up of a 6.5% salary increase and a 2.5% increase in benefits. The unions are demanding 8%.
