Only a few hurdles remained to an agreement on wages between a number of public labour unions and the government, Independent Labour Caucus spokesman Chris Klopper said yesterday. A formal offer has not yet been made, but the parties have agreed in principle to most of the demands by the ILC, which represents 11 unions, he advised. However, the outstanding issue of the housing allowance remained “an absolute dealbreaker”.
