NHI discussion paper due by end of April

National Health Insurance will be phased in over a 14-year period beginning in 2012/13, the National Treasury announced today. Funding over and above the current budget allocation for public health, which this year amounts to R122bn, will be required. A discussion paper will be published by April this year.
