Unions question timing and veracity of upbeat jobs data

Labour columnist Terry Bell is sceptical about Statistics SA’s latest Labour Force Survey, which reveals the lowest jobless rate since June 2009. Apart from differences of opinion about the meaning of the data, the timing of the release of the latest report, just before President Zuma’s State of the Nation address, has also caused some wry comment.
