Cosatu may strip membership from nurse rape suspect

A male nurse who was fired for drugging and raping a patient at a Potchefstroom hospital could also face being thrown out of Cosatu and might not be represented by the federation in his hearing. "If he is a member of the Cosatu union, and is [found] guilty of the offence, we call on the union to dismiss this member immediately and not to represent him in the hearing," said spokesperson Solly Phetoe.
