kznlogo thumb100 ANA reports that KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) premier Willies Mchunu said on Wednesday that government’s programmes to improve the lives of the province’s poor were not faulty, but the issue was the implementation.  

Addressing a provincial indaba, he said that provincial government needed to address a chronic skills shortage which would improve the implementation of its programmes.  Questioned afterwards by journalists, Mchunu said there had been many skilled professionals who had left government to join the private sector and that this was having an impact on the government’s services.  He could, however, not provide figures indicating how many skilled people had been lost to the private sector.
