newsTMG Digital/Sowetan reports that the bodies of two illegal miners were located underground at the disused Langlaagte mine in Johannesburg by a team of their fellow illegal miners.

Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela indicated:  "They led a group of rescue teams to the spot in the mine they seemed to know well.  The two bodies were brought up.  We don’t think those were the last of the trapped miners because family members on the scene insist that there are more people trapped in there."  The two men were brought to the surface on Tuesday.  Official rescue operations conducted by the Mine Rescue Services remained suspended on Tuesday following the recovery of a miner’s body and another injured miner late on Monday.  Several miners have emerged on their own or been rescued since the recovery operations started on Sunday but they were later arrested.
